Abstract Persistence of wind direction is a neglected subject. However, it is one of the significant parameters in dosage evaluation from short term releases of pollutants to the atmosphere. In this paper this topic is studied in detail using the continuous wind data from three nuclear power station sites in India.

Wind direction information is of great significance to both wind energy assessment and wind power characteristic analysis. How to divide the wind direction sectors, while taking into account the continuous random fluctuation of thewind direction in the time and space dimension, has become a hot topic worthy of study.

Environmental assessment of wind speed and direction under field conditions require sensors that are small and rugged yet with low starting speeds and linear response to a wide range of velocities. The WMO, (1971) contains instrument guidelines for many types of routine meteorological measurements, but more sensitive sensors are often needed for air ...

Russian Meteorology and Hydrology, 2015
Discussed are the data on wind direction in the air layer from 40 to 500 m over Moscow for the period of 2004–2014. The data was obtained with the MODOS sodar installed in Lomonosov Moscow State University. It is demonstrated that this wind direction has a stable southwestern mode in ten years on average.

MULTIFRACTAL BEHAVIOR OF WIND SPEED AND WIND DIRECTION
Fractals, 2016In this paper, an analysis of temporal variation of wind speed and wind direction recorded at 10 min intervals are presented. The measurements were carried out at Hambanthota, a site located in the southern coastal belt of Sri Lanka which has a high potential for wind power generation.

Generation of directional wind by colliding airflows
2013 World Haptics Conference (WHC), 2013This paper describes an approach to interpolate the wind direction and velocity using two fans. Firstly, maps of the angle and velocity of the wind in relation to the speeds of the two fans are created. It was found that changes in the speeds of the two fans in the interpolation were not necessarily linear to the directional angles from the fans. Next,
