Oscillating wind energy conversion systems

open access: yes, 1983
The information in this document suggests that Oscillating Wind Energy Conversion Systems do not appear to have any significant advantages over equivalent conventional rotating-element wind energy conversion systems. In fact, in most cases it appears that they have several disadvantages.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Development of a Prediction Model for Progression Risk in High‐Grade Gliomas Based on Habitat Radiomics and Pathomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the value of constructing models based on habitat radiomics and pathomics for predicting the risk of progression in high‐grade gliomas. Methods This study conducted a retrospective analysis of preoperative magnetic resonance (MR) images and pathological sections from 72 patients diagnosed with high‐grade gliomas (52 ...

Effect of Wind Speed and Blade Deflection Angle on the Output Power of Horizontal-Axis Wind Turbines

open access: yesWasit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2018
This study is aimed to optimize the conversion of kinetic wind energy into electrical energy. Wind energy is a sustainable energy that is preferred to generate electricity for its low generation cost and low CO2 emissions. The considerations of physical

Flow field analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
The average mean wind speed integrated over a disk is shown to be extremely close to the mean value of wind speed which would be measured at the center of a disk for most geometries in which a WECS (Wind Energy Conversion System) would operate.
