Visual Impact Assessment - There's more to it than meets the eye! [PDF]
The visual impact of a wind farm is one of the major causes of concern for all current U.K. wind farm projects. Often visual impact is the single most important issue on which a planning application is judged.

Vision‐Assisted Avocado Harvesting with Aerial Bimanual Manipulation
This work outlines the design and implementation of a bimanual aerial robot that employs visual perception and learning to detect, reach, and harvest avocados. A new gripper and fixer arm assembly is used to harvest avocados, while visual perception enables the detection of avocados and estimation of their position and orientation for determining ...

Why the Coriolis force turns a wind farm wake clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere [PDF]
The interaction between the Coriolis force and a wind farm wake is investigated by Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes simulations, using two different wind farm representations: a high roughness and 5 × 5 actuator disks.

Fold Walker: An Origami‐Inspired Quadruped Robot for Multipattern Locomotion and Object Grasping
This article presents Fold Walker, an origami‐inspired quadruped robot capable of multipattern locomotion and object grasping. With each leg featuring two rotational folds, the robot can transform from a flat 2D configuration into complex 3D poses. Furthermore, its trunk and legs can be one‐shot 3D printed as a unified structure, greatly simplifying ...

The impact of future offshore wind farms on wind power generation in Great Britain [PDF]
In the coming years the geographical distribution of wind farms in Great Britain is expected to change significantly. Following the development of the “round 3” wind zones (circa 2025), most of the installed capacity will be located in large offshore ...

Gut Bacteria Improve Depressive Symptoms by Degrading Cortisol into Androgen
Chronic stress is an important risk factor for stress‐related disorders such as depression. Stress hormone cortisol is essential for the pathogenesis of stress‐related disorders such as depression. Some gut microbiota degraded cortisol, and improve depressive symptoms.

Ecosystem‐Centered Robot Design: Toward Ecoresorbable Sustainability Robots (ESRs)
Robots exploring natural ecosystems can support monitoring and conservation, but must adopt ecosystem‐centered design to avoid pollution, waste, and damage. This review proposes guidelines for co‐designing ecoresorbable sustainability robots (ESRs), uniting materials, robotics, and ecological contexts in a single framework.

Water scarcity poses a critical threat to global food security. A low‐power, flexible electromagnetic actuator is presented for smart drip irrigation systems. The device achieves precise, wide‐range flow modulation (0.05–5.8 mL/min) in response to real‐time plant demands, reducing water consumption compared to conventional flood irrigation.
