USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Airborne lidar observations supporting the ADM-Aeolus mission for global wind profiling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The Atmospheric Dynamics Mission ADM-Aeolus of ESA will be the first lidar mission to sense the global wind field from space. The instrument is based on a direct-detection Doppler lidar operating at 354.9 nm with two spectrometers for aerosol/cloud ...

Ocean wave effects on the retrieved wind field from the scatterometer [PDF]

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2014
The scatterometer is a kind of non-nadir real aperture radar (RAR), which can estimate the wind field of sea surface based on geophysical model function (GMF). GMF describes the empirical relation between the wind field and the sea surface roughness characterized by sigma0.

CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

On the Use of Azimuth Cutoff for Sea Surface Wind Speed Retrieval From SAR

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
The accurate retrieval of sea-surface wind field data is crucial for weather forecasting and climate modeling. Despite this, the complexity of sea surface conditions poses significant challenges for satellite-based synthetic aperture radar (SAR) wind ...

Retrieval of three-dimensional wind fields from Doppler radar data using an efficient two-step approach [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Measurement Techniques, 2011
In this work, we describe an efficient approach for wind retrieval from dual Doppler radar data. The approach produces a gridded field that not only satisfies the observations, but also satisfies the anelastic mass continuity equation.

GelMA‐based 3D spheroids recapitulate transcriptomic and functional hallmarks of myeloid sarcoma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
GelMA 5% hydrogels support the formation of myeloid leukemia spheroids that recapitulate MS‐specific features, including G1 arrest, apoptosis, and ECM‐driven transcriptomic reprogramming. The 3D model mimicked soft‐tissue‐like stiffness and oxygen conditions, and transcriptomic convergence with primary MS samples confirmed its utility as a preclinical ...

Using fluorescence fluctuation spectroscopy to quantify molecular dynamics within cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Microscopy techniques like fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) and number and brightness analysis (N&B) allow to quantify concentrations, diffusion rates, and oligomerization of fluorescently labeled molecules in the living cell. In this protocol the principles of how to set up these types of experiments are described including calibration ...

An Enhanced Three-Dimensional Wind Retrieval Method Based on Genetic Algorithm-Particle Swarm Optimization for Coherent Doppler Wind Lidar

open access: yesRemote Sensing
In this paper, a wind retrieval method based on genetic algorithm-particle swarm optimization (GA-PSO) for the coherent Doppler wind lidar (CDWL) is proposed. The algorithm incorporates an advanced optimization framework that considers wind field spatial
