Generation of Wind Waves

Journal of the Waterways and Harbors Division, 1966
The processes of wind-wave generation are examined in light of recent theoretical work by several applied mathematicians. Measurements of air pressure fluctuations over wind waves in laboratory tanks are presented, and the existence of a phase shift between the air pressure fluctuations and the water surface fluctuations (waves) is demonstrated through

Motor and Generator Windings

IEEE Industry Applications Magazine, 2011
In many respects, Large Motors and generators in petrochemical plants have become a commodity product with intense competition to secure orders among manufacturers from around the world. This has resulted in pressure on machine designers to reduce manufacturing costs. Many design and processing innovations have been successfully implemented.

Wind and General Circulation

2017
Wind is the directional motion of air particles. The general circulation is a representation of climatic state of wind, which is a linear and delayed response of periodic solar radiation forcing. The timescale of general circulation is from diurnal cycle to seasonal cycle, while its spatial scale ranges from a small peninsula to continent and basin.

Wind Power Generation

2013
Wind power is a fast growing source of renewable energy. In this chapter, the process of conversion of the kinetic energy inherent in the wind to electrical energy is described. Numerous technologies exist and compete in order to achieve this objective, but in general, wind turbines and wind power plants (WPPs) rely on electrical machinery and power ...
