Study of Currents in the Wakes of Vortex Generators on the Blades of Wind Power Turbines [PDF]
. The article considers the possibility of using vortex generators on the back of wind turbine blades. The main objective of the work is to select the optimal shape of vortex generators for effec-tive boundary layer and separated flow control in the ...

Dynamics and stability of wind turbine generators [PDF]
Synchronous and induction generators are considered. A comparison is made between wind turbines, steam, and hydro units. The unusual phenomena associated with wind turbines are emphasized.

“Dust in the wind...”, deep learning application to wind energy time series forecasting [PDF]
To balance electricity production and demand, it is required to use different prediction techniques extensively. Renewable energy, due to its intermittency, increases the complexity and uncertainty of forecasting, and the resulting accuracy impacts all ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Wind generators – a sign of technological progress or negligence of the natural landscape? [PDF]
The use of wind as an alternative source for the production of electrical energy is becoming increasingly popular. An important reason is that the transformation of wind in to electrical energy doesn’t cause emissions unto the environment.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
