The occupant response to wind-induced tall building motion in New Zealand

open access: yes, 2013
1014 central business district workers in Wellington New Zealand were surveyed about wind-induced building motion. 41.7% reported wind-induced building motion.

Dose‐dependent hepatotoxicity of hydrogen peroxide in HepG2 cells and its modulation by CYP450 induction

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
NMR metabolomics revealed concentration‐dependent metabolic perturbations in HepG2 cells exposed to H2O2. Rifampicin pretreatment enhanced metabolic competence, attenuated toxin‐induced alterations and produced metabolite profiles more consistent with human liver physiology, supporting the use of CYP450‐induced HepG2 models for improved in vitro ...

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...

Accurate and noninvasive prostate cancer detection using plasma‐derived extracellular vesicle RNA

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Plasma extracellular vesicles were captured with WGA‐conjugated magnetic beads and profiled for RNA biomarkers. A three‐RNA panel (NM_024955, NR_047469, and NR_002564) distinguished prostate cancer from healthy controls and benign prostatic hyperplasia, supporting a simple, noninvasive approach to improve prostate cancer detection.

Effects of wind-induced tall building vibrations on human motor performance

open access: yes, 2013
Prolonged exposure to wind-induced vibrations in tall buildings can cause discomfort, impair task performance, and even trigger motion sickness symptoms.
