Modification of Prandtl Wind Tunnel

open access: yes, 2018
Wind tunnels are devices that enable researchers to study the flow over objects of interest, the forces acting on them and their interaction with the flow, which is nowadays playing an increasingly important role due to noise pollution.

Disordered Rocksalts  as High‐Energy and Earth‐Abundant Li‐Ion Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered rocksalts with lithium excess (DRX) offer a new direction in Li‐ion cathode design beyond conventional Ni‐ and Co‐based materials. This review highlights the design principles, synthesis strategies, and performance optimization of DRX oxides and oxyfluorides for energy‐dense, sustainable batteries using Earth‐abundant transition metals and ...

Detection and Manipulation of Interaction Between Magnetic DyPc2 Molecules and Superconducting Pb(111) Surface

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The research focuses on the interaction between the magnetic DyPc2 molecules and the superconducting Pb(111) surface. A complex quantum spin system is observed in both DyPc2 molecules embedded in the self‐assembled monolayer and those scattered atop it, where Kondo screening and superconducting pairing coexist and compete.

A comparison of computer-generated lift and drag polars for a Wortmann airfoil to flight and wind tunnel results [PDF]

open access: yes
Computations of drag polars for a low-speed Wortmann sailplane airfoil are compared to both wind tunnel and flight results. Excellent correlation is shown to exist between computations and flight results except when separated flow regimes were ...
