Wind Tunnel Tests on a Wind Turbine with Contractor and Diffuser Arrangement
2007 International Conference on Power Engineering, Energy and Electrical Drives, 2007This article illustrates the improved wind energy capture of a standard small-scale wind turbine with a novel contractor and diffuser. The contractor and diffuser arrangement is used to accelerate the air-flow across the turbine's blade system and has been optimised using computational fluid dynamics.

Hypersonic Wind Tunnel Testing
1992In general, there are four primary reasons for wind tunnel testing: 1. understanding aerodynamic flow (research) 2. development of a database 3. parametric configuration studies and 4.

Abstract From the preceding chapters it has become obvious that a purely theoretical treatment of most transonic problems is not possible, at least today. For a reasonable assurance of the accuracy of the theoretical results, comparisons with test data are still a necessity. Data for this purpose may be obtained from free-flight tests or

Automobile Model Scale Wind-Tunnel Test by Means of Aeronautical Wind-Tunnel
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1995<div class="htmlview paragraph">A series of model scale wind - tunnel tests of box van trucks and buses are developed using an aeronautical wind - tunnel in order to improve the aerodynamic performance of Chinese - made commercial vehicles. Some technical problems, such as the influence of Reynolds number, the correction for blockage ratio and ...

Abstract : Extensive parafoil wind tunnel tests were carried out. Parafoil model sizes ranged from .09 sq ft to 147 sq ft and parafoil aspect ratios ranged from .5 to 3.0. The wind tunnel test velocities ranged from approximately 20 ft per second to over 60 ft per second. The aerodynamic stability coefficients were measured.

Wind-Tunnel Testing for strategy and market design
Sixth International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications, 2006Designers of racing cars and aeroplanes today would typically put their designs through wind-tunnel testing. Many business strategies determine the success or failure of an enterprise. It is sensible to put these strategies into action before testing them rigorously.
