Multidimensional Vibration Suppression Method with Piezoelectric Control for Wind Tunnel Models

open access: yesSensors, 2019
In wind tunnel tests, the low-frequency and large-amplitude vibration of the cantilever sting result in poor test data in pitch plane and yaw plane, more seriously, even threatens the safety of wind tunnel tests.

Wind-tunnel free-flight investigation of a model of a forward-swept-wing fighter configuration [PDF]

open access: yes
A wind-tunnel free-flight investigation was conducted to study the dynamic stability characteristics of a model of a forward-swept-wing fighter-airplane configuration at high angles of attack.

Shuttle system ascent aerodynamic and plume heating [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The shuttle program provided a challenge to the aerothermodynamicist due to the complexity of the flow field around the vehicle during ascent, since the configuration causes multiple shock interactions between the elements.

Aerodynamic Characteristics of Individual Ballast Particle by Wind Tunnel Tests

open access: yes, 2014
Ballast flying has been considered as a problem in train aerodynamics with increasing the maximal speed. And this phenomenon seriously threats the safety of train operation.

Surface Diffusion in SnTe‐PbTe Monolayer Lateral Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The lateral heterostructures between 2D materials often suffer from the interdiffusion at the interfaces. Here, a surface diffusion mechanism is found to be dominating at the interfaces between semiconducting SnTe and PbTe monolayers. Atomically sharp interfaces can be achieved by suppressing this diffusion process. ABSTRACT The construction of complex

Measurement of model aeroelastic deformations in the wind tunnel at transonic speeds using stereophotogrammetry [PDF]

open access: yes
A stereophotographic method of determining the aeroelastic deformations of an airplane model under aerodynamic load in the wind tunnel was evaluated. Wind tunnel tests were conducted in the Langley 8 foot transonic pressure tunnel on the wing of a 0.0625

Near‐Infrared Light‐Programmable Negative Differential Transconductance in Organic Electrochemical Transistors for Reconfigurable Logic

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Organic electrochemical transistors based on a Near‐Infrared (NIR)‐responsive polymer p(C4DPP‐T) and iodide electrolyte exhibit optically programmable negative differential transconductance. NIR illumination triggers an iodine‐mediated redox process, enabling a transition from binary to ternary conductance states within a single‐layer device.

FPGA-based embedded system for wind tunnel variable-geometry nozzle positioning [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Technical Review, 2019
Over the last few decades, the accuracy requirements for wind tunnel testing have become much more stringent as aircraft industry strives to achieve the best performance of their products. Investments in advanced capabilities are necessary to obtain more

A common geometric data-base approach for computer-aided manufacturing of wind-tunnel models and theoretical aerodynamic analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
A more automated process to produce wind tunnel models using existing facilities is discussed. A process was sought to more rapidly determine the aerodynamic characteristics of advanced aircraft configurations.

Conductance‐Dependent Photoresponse in a Dynamic SrTiO3 Memristor for Biorealistic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A nanoscale SrTiO3 memristor is shown to exhibit dynamic synaptic behavior through the interaction of local electrical and global optical signals. Its photoresponse depends quantitatively on the conductance state, which evolves and decays over tunable timescales, enabling ultralow‐power, biorealistic learning mechanisms for advanced in‐memory and ...
