An Evolutionary Environment for Wind Turbine Blade Design

2005
The aerodynamic design of wind turbine blades is carried out by means of evolutionary techniques within an automatic design environment based on evolution. A simple, fast, and robust aerodynamic simulator is embedded in the design environment to predict the performance of any turbine produced as intermediate individual of the evolutionary process.

Turbine Size and Temperature Dependence of Icing on Wind Turbine Blades

Wind Engineering, 2010
The dependence of atmospheric icing on temperature and wind turbine size was studied by performing numerical simulations of ice accumulation on five different wind turbine blade profiles at four different temperatures. The profiles were for 450 kW, 600 kW, 1 MW, 2 MW and 5 MW wind turbines, and the temperatures −10°C, −7.5°C, −5°C and −2.5°C.

Optimization Design of Wind Turbine Blades Based on BLADED

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
The optimization of wind turbine blades can increase the generator power and annual output of electricity. Illustrated by the case of 2MW wind turbine, optimizing the blade chord and twist angle by POS algorithm. Modeling by BLADED, analysis the change of lift and drag coefficients, the power coefficient, maximum power of wind turbine, minimum power of

Modeling of uncertainties for wind turbine blade design

2014
Wind turbine blades are designed by a combination of tests and numerical calculations using finite element models of the blade. The blades are typically composite structures with laminates of glass-fiber and/or carbon-fibers glued together by a matrix material.

Wind turbine blade inspection

2020
