Active Power Optimal Control of Wind Turbines with Doubly Fed Inductive Generators Based on Model Predictive Control

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2015
Because of the randomness and fluctuation of wind energy, as well as the impact of strongly nonlinear characteristic of variable speed constant frequency (VSCF) wind power generation system with doubly fed induction generators (DFIG), traditional active ...

Wind turbine noise [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ, 2012
Seems to affect health adversely and an independent review of evidence is needed The evidence for adequate sleep as a prerequisite for human health, particularly child health, is overwhelming. Governments have recently paid much attention to the effects of environmental noise on sleep duration and quality, and to how to reduce such noise.1 However ...

Clarification of influences of inflow conditions on wake of horizontal axis wind turbine

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
In recent years, wind turbines are introduced in wind farms in which some wind turbines are concentrated. When wind turbines are built in contiguity with each other in wind farms, the flow passing through a wind turbine, which is called wake, may flow ...

Blockage effects in wind farms

open access: yesWind Energy, 2020
An experimental study of wind farm blockage has been performed to quantify the velocity decrease that the first row of a wind farm experiences due to the presence of the other turbines downstream.

Combined Process‐ and Phase‐Field‐Simulation to Predict the Microstructure of Single‐Crystal Ni‐Based Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

A Modeling Method for Micro Wind Speed Prediction of Wind Turbines Based on Time Series Analysis

open access: yesKongzhi Yu Xinxi Jishu
Affected by meteorological conditions, terrains, locations and specific designs, wind turbines exhibit significant uncertainties and disparities in wind energy input, which makes it difficult to predict their output power.

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Converter Analysis for Small Wind Turbine Applications [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Current environmental concerns and expensive infrastructure costs have a significant impact on the adoption of wind turbine technology. Research on the technologies of small wind turbines, which are much smaller in size and capacity, has increased ...
