A Compact Hollow Fiber Electrode Assembly Architecture for Continuous Electrochemical Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A coaxial, membrane‐integrated hollow fiber electrode assembly (HFEA) is developed for continuous marine carbon mineralization. By utilizing a sub‐millimeter inter‐electrode gap, the HFEA minimizes Ohmic losses, achieving 50% energy reduction and over 85% DIC removal.

Phenomenology of hydromagnetic turbulence in a uniformly expanding medium [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
A simple phenomenology is developed for the decay and transport of turbulence in a constant-speed, uniformly expanding medium. The fluctuations are assumed to be locally incompressible, and either of the hydrodynamic or non-Alfvénic magnetohydrodynamic ...

Coprecipitation‐Enabled Scalable Synthesis of High‐Energy Density Polyanion‐Integrated Disordered Rocksalt Cathodes for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A coprecipitation‐enabled solid‐state route enables scalable synthesis of the metastable polyanion‐integrated disordered rocksalt cathode, Li1.67Mn1.5P0.17O4, without mechanochemical phase formation or post‐synthesis pulverization. Coprecipitation establishes local Mn–P–O integration in the precursor, while eutectic LiOH/LiNO3‐assisted lithiation ...

Solar wind fluctuations: waves and turbulence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We present a brief review of observations and theory regarding the nature and radial evolution of MHD‐scale solar wind fluctuations. Emphasis is placed on the fact that the fluctuations consist of both waves and turbulence, and on their dual dynamical ...

Dynamical Age of Alfvénic Turbulence in the Solar Wind

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
An evolving turbulent flow like the solar wind can be meaningfully characterized by its “turbulence age”—an estimate of the number of nonlinear times that have elapsed during the plasma’s propagation from the Sun to the point of observation.

Mapping the Innovation DNA of Agribusiness Firms: A Multi‐Method Analysis of Strategic Capabilities and Performance

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Innovation is essential for competitiveness in agribusiness facing dynamic environments. This study examines how market orientation, marketing, relational, and social capabilities influence innovation performance. Using data from 751 Spanish firms and a multi‐method approach that integrates Structural Equation Modeling (PLS‐SEM), Necessary ...

DES study of airfoil lift coefficient sensitivity to flow turbulence

open access: yes, 2022
S.9-15The aerodynamic behavior of wind turbines is strongly influenced by the turbulence level. However, the design of the rotor blades is usually based on experimental results of airfoils operating under laminar conditions.

On the 1/f Spectrum in Slow Solar Wind Turbulence: The Role of Alfvénicity

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
The slow solar wind has been recently observed to have a number of intervals that are dominated by large-scale Alfvénic fluctuations, especially within 1 au, with similar turbulence characteristics to those found in fast wind streams, including a 1/ f ...

A stress‐balance‐based critical Weber number for droplets and bubbles

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Predicting droplet and bubble breakup in turbulent flows is critical for optimizing multiphase flow processes such as emulsification and atomization. Traditional models based on a fixed critical Weber number (Wec$$ {We}_c $$) may not capture interfacial‐stress dominance in low‐viscosity fluids or viscous resistance in high‐viscosity droplets ...

Turbulence Length Scales in a Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel

open access: yes, 2001
Turbulence length scales are important parameters affecting the aerodynamic characteristics and response of structures in wind flow. It is therefore essential to simulate the wind velocity profile models in scaling these turbulence length scale ...
