Fast‐Responding O2 Gas Sensor Based on Luminescent Europium Metal‐Organic Frameworks (MOF‐76)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Luminescent MOF‐76 materials based on Eu(III) and mixed Eu(III)/Y(III) show rapid and reversible changes in emission intensity in response to O2 with very short response times. The effect is based on triplet quenching of the linker ligands that act as photosensitizers. Average emission lifetimes of a few milliseconds turn out to be mostly unaffected by

Simultaneous fine structure observation of wind and temperature profiles by the Arecibo 430-MHz radar and in situ measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
A simultaneous campaign of balloon and radar measurements took place on March 14 to 16, 1984, above the Arecibo 430-MHz radar. This radar was operating with a vertical resolution of 150 m following two antenna beam directions: 15 deg.

Evolution of Wind-Generated Shallow-Water Waves in the Framework of a Modified Kadomtsev–Petviashvili Equation

open access: yesFluids
In a recent paper, denoted by MG24 in this text, we used a modified Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation to describe the evolution of wind-driven water wave packets in shallow water.

WAVES IN TURNING WIND FIELDS

open access: yesCoastal Engineering Proceedings, 1988
A numerical model to compute to a high degree of accuracy nonlinear wave-wave interactions of wind generated waves supplemented with formulations of wind generation and white-capping, has been used to estimate qualitatively and quantitatively the effect of these physical processes on the directional response of waves in a turning wind field.

The Effect of REFIT on Irish Wholesale Electricity Prices [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper evaluates the likely effect of REFIT, the Irish scheme to support renewable electricity generation, on the wholesale price of electricity. The cost of REFIT is passed on to Irish consumers.

Electroactive Metal–Organic Frameworks for Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrocatalysis is crucial in sustainable energy conversion as it enables efficient chemical transformations. The review discusses how metal–organic frameworks can revolutionize this field by offering tailorable structures and active site tunability, enabling efficient and selective electrocatalytic processes.

On Offshore wind turbine fatigue caused by wave influenced wind

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2015
A wave influenced wind turbine simulator (WIWiTS) is developed and results from these simulations are used for fatigue analyses. WIWiTS is based on the Simulator fOr Wind Farm Application (SOWFA) developed at NREL.

MACRO-TURBULENCE FROM WIND WAVES

open access: yesCoastal Engineering Proceedings, 1970
Laboratory studies m a wind wave flume were carried out to investigate the macro-scale turbulence associated with wind waves and white cap conditions Velocity fluctuations m water were measured with a hot film anemometer and parametric correlations between wind waves and turbulence characteristics were established Measured data were recorded m analog ...
