Evolution of Water Wave Groups in the Forced Benney–Roskes System

open access: yesFluids, 2023
For weakly nonlinear waves in one space dimension, the nonlinear Schrödinger Equation is widely accepted as a canonical model for the evolution of wave groups described by modulation instability and its soliton and breather solutions.

Experimental validation of a Kalman observer using linearized OpenFAST and a fully instrumented 1:70 model

open access: yesWind Energy
To enable real‐time monitoring and control strategies for floating offshore wind turbines, accurate information about the state of the system is needed.

A new roughness length parameterization accounting for wind–wave (mis)alignment

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2019
. Two-way feedback occurs between offshore wind and waves. However, the influence of the waves on the wind profile remains understudied, in particular the momentum transfer between the sea surface and the atmosphere.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Wind-Wave Relationship Model and Analysis of Typhoon Wave Fields in the South China Sea From HY-2A Satellite Observations

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2020
Significant wave height is an important parameter for characterizing ocean surface waves. With the development of remote sensing technology, satellite radar altimetry has become an essential tool for obtaining significant wave height estimations. However,

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

On Correlation between Wind and Wave Storms

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2021
The paper is focused on the formulation of an adequate criterion for associating wave storm events to the generating wind storm ones, and on the study of correlation between their characteristic parameters.

Seasonal Variability of the Global Spectral Wind Wave Climate

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, 2019
Our understanding of the seasonal variability in the global wind wave field is revisited here using a novel analysis that resolves the directional wave spectra.

Age‐Related Characteristics of SYT1‐Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorder

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives We describe the clinical manifestations and developmental abilities of individuals with SYT1‐associated neurodevelopmental disorder (Baker‐Gordon syndrome) from infancy to adulthood. We further describe the neuroradiological and electrophysiological characteristics of the condition at different ages, and explore the associations ...
