The authors present a low‐loss dual‐permanent‐magnet‐excited vernier (DPMEV) machine with segmented stator design to meet the requirements of electric aircraft. Based on the field modulation theory, it can ensure that the segmented DPMEV machine reduces iron loss without sacrificing torque performance.

Spur-Gear-System Efficiency at Part and Full Load [PDF]
A simple method for predicting the part- and full-load power loss of a steel spur gearset of arbitrary geometry supported by ball bearings is described. The analysis algebraically accounts for losses due to gear sliding, rolling traction, and windage in ...

Abstract Purse‐seine fishers using drifting fish aggregating devices (dFADs), mainly built with bamboo, plastic buoys, and plastic netting, to aggregate and catch tropical tuna, deploy 46,000–65,000 dFADs per year in the Pacific Ocean. Some of the major concerns associated with this widespread fishing device are potential entanglement of sea turtles ...

Effect of geometry and operating conditions on spur gear system power loss [PDF]
The results of an analysis of the effects of spur gear size, pitch, width, and ratio on total mesh power loss for a wide range of speeds, torques, and oil viscosities are presented. The analysis uses simple algebraic expressions to determine gear sliding,

Numerical Analysis of Flow Field in Generator End-Winding Region
Cooling in an end-winding region of a high-powered, large-sized generator still remains a challenge today because of a number of factors: a larger number of parts/components with irregular geometries, complexity in cooling flow paths, flow splitting and ...
