A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Analysis of Coiled Tubing Failure Caused By Winding

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2015
The plastic strain of the coiled tubing caused by winding and unwinding could lead to cumulative residual deformation and low cycle fatigue, resulting in coiled tubing deformation fatigue or fatigue damage.Through analysis on the test loads and onsite ...

Detection of Near Failure Winding due to Deformation in 33/11kV Power Transformer by using Low Voltage Impulse (LVI) Test Method and Validated through Untanking

open access: yes, 2010
Power transformer consists of components which are under consistent thermal and electrical stresses. The major component which degrades under these stresses is the paper insulation of the power transformer.

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Analysis of Large Deformation Wound Roll Models

open access: yes, 2013
Almost all winding models incorporate the assumption of small linear deformations and strain in their development. These models treat the addition of a layer of web to a winding roll with linear analysis using linear strain theory.

Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.

Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...

SFRA, Detect Of Winding Deformation in Power Transformer

open access: yesIOSR Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 2014
The sweep frequency response analysis is extensively used technique for detect hidden fault and condition monitoring of power transformer. The operation is carried out by supply a low voltage signal of varying frequencies to the transformer windings and measuring both the input and output signals.
