Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Power transformer geometry monitoring of active parts by SFRA method [PDF]
During regular operation, power transformer windings are continuously exposed to electromechanical stresses and vibrations. Surges during lightning or short circuits may cause the weakening of the mechanical structure and the mechanical reinforcing parts

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Wind Features and Wind Velocities [PDF]
Fast winds have been detected in the spectra of many nuclei of planetary nebulae (PNNi). The wind velocities range from about 600 km/s to roughly 4000 km/s. While these winds add little to the mass of the nebular shells they may significantly effect their internal kinematics.By studying the emission from the faint outer envelopes of PNe one can infer ...

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

ELECTRIC MACHINE WITH AXIAL MAGNETIC FLUX, PERMANENT MAGNETS AND MULTILAYERED PRINTING WINDINGS
The use of printed windings in electric machines with permanent magnets and axial magnetic flux allows to reduce their axial size and significantly to increase the current density in the windings.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Source of magnetic fields with complex energy-frequency and polarization structure
A method is proposed for the design synthesis of a source of rotating magnetic fields based on the combination of three mutually orthogonal solenoidal circuits powered by alternating current. The feasibility of constructing a magnetoforming system with a
