Extracellular matrix remodeling and immune reprogramming drive residual tumor progression of liver cancer after incomplete microwave ablation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Incomplete microwave ablation (iMWA) of liver cancer triggers a biphasic progression in residual tumors. At Day 3, the microenvironment is characterized by acute inflammatory responses and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. By Day 14, a profound shift occurs toward oncogenic signal transduction and immunosuppression, marked by macrophage ...

Emergency readmission criterion: a technique for determining emergency readmission time window [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A frequently chosen time window in defining readmission is 28 days after discharge. Yet in the literature, shorter and longer periods such as 14 days or 90-180 days have also been suggested.

Comparison of lateral window and osteotome techniques in sinus augmentation: histological and histomorphometric evaluation.

open access: yesFrontiers in Dentistry, 2012
The aim of this study was to compare the lateral window and osteotome techniques for sinus lifting using histological and histomorphometric methods. In this clinical trial 10 patients (a total number of 14 sinus areas) who needed implant treatment in the ...

Automated technique for high-pressure water-based window cleaning and accompanying parametric study.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
The maintenance of buildings has become an important issue with the construction of many high-rise buildings in recent years. However, the cleaning of the outer walls of buildings is performed in highly hazardous environments over long periods, and many ...

Unique circulating miRNAome signatures captured with distinct molecular states in Lynch syndrome and sporadic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNA profiles distinguish nonmalignant Lynch syndrome from cancer‐associated Lynch syndrome, sporadic colorectal cancer, and healthy controls. Age‐stratified analysis reveals disease‐specific regulatory states, and a six‐miRNA panel shows concordant separation in an independent colorectal tissue cohort.

Characterization of therapeutic antibodies targeting lymphatic and vascular resistance factor for the treatment of hypervascularized and highly metastatic cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LVRF (lymphatic and vascular resistance factor) is a VEGFA splice variant upregulated in response to anti‐angiogenic therapy that fosters tumor adaptation through enhanced vascularization, lymphangiogenesis, and metastatic dissemination. Targeting LVRF with fully human neutralizing antibodies disrupts these processes and limits resistant tumor growth ...

Optimization of seminal extracellular vesicle isolation protocols for cancer biomarker analysis using proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This paper shows that size‐exclusion chromatography and sequential centrifugation applied to seminal plasma enrich for different populations of extracellular vesicles. This may significantly affect the detection and analysis of extracellular vesicle‐associated cancer biomarkers.

Automatic window repositioning technique for digital window comparator used within mixed-signal design-for testability schemes

open access: yes, 2005
The construction of digital window comparators for the on-chip evaluation of analogue signals within the mixed-signal integrated circuit is reviewed. One of the difficulties in their application is due to the lot-to-lot variation of the comparator window.

Speech Enhancement Using Sliding Window Empirical Mode Decomposition and Hurst-based Technique

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2019
The most challenging in speech enhancement technique is tracking non-stationary noises for long speech segments and low Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR).

Tumour‐proximal deep serum proteomics identifies biomarkers associated with ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
New biomarkers are needed for early ovarian cancer detection. Ovarian (tumour‐proximal) and peripheral vein serum from healthy women and patients with benign or malignant tumours underwent nanoparticle‐enriched deep proteomics. Ovarian serum yielded more protein identifications and revealed tumour‐reflective signatures.
