The window controller developed for the computer animation system (TAN) of the human-body modeling and positioning system TEMPUS (Badler et al., 1983) is characterized, and its operation is illustrated with diagrams. The controller is associated with a screen viewport and comprises five nested squares related to five modifications of the window ...

Summary: The concept of the sampling window is introduced for the central interpolation of finite energy band-limited functions. The sampling window does not increase the rate of convergence of the truncation error series, as do various convergence factors, but does significantly reduce the truncation-error bound.

We have developed a very simple retrofit to a large display surface that enables knocks or taps to be located and characterized (e.g., determining type of hit --- metallic tap, knuckle tap, or bash --- and intensity) in real time. We do this by analyzing the waveforms captured by 4 piezoelectric transducers (one mounted in each corner of the surface ...

Windows are essential architectural elements found in buildings that provide natural light, ventilation, and views of the surrounding environment. They are openings in walls, typically made of glass within a frame of wood, metal, or other materials, allowing light to enter while offering protection from weather conditions.
