The caliph and the falcons: a ninth‐century history from Iceland to Iraq
Early Medieval Europe, EarlyView.In the late ninth and early tenth centuries, an extraordinary number of falcons were given to the ʿAbbāsid caliphs in Baghdad, many of which were white.
