Abstract The improvement of Brassica napus and Brassica rapa winter survival is necessary for the expansion of acreage into Northern Scandinavia and North America, yet winter survival is a complex trait. Screening methods which efficiently identify differences in winter survival are important for the selection of superior cultivars, yet variation in ...

ADAPTATION OF WINTER RAPESEED IN ONTARIO
Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 1987In order to determine regions of adaptation of winter rapeseed (Brassica napus L.), field trials were planted at about 30 locations in Ontario in 1981 and 1982. Four cultivars were tested each year. Winter survival was poor in northern Ontario in both years, and along the north shore of Lake Erie in the first year. Over all sites, mean winter survival

Breeding winter rapeseed for the temperate forest zone
Russian Agricultural Sciences, 2017The requirements and key characteristics for breeding winter rapeseed for the temperate/forest zone are formulated on the basis of agritechnical and climatic conditions. Assessment of the stock material discovered the sources of the valuable agronomic traits, such as winter hardiness, seed quality, and productivity.

EFFECT OF ARCHITECT, SE GROWTH REGULATOR ON WINTER RAPESEED
Plant protection, 2022The effectiveness of Architect, SE growth regulator (mepiquat chloride, 150 g/l + pyraclostrobin, 100 g/l + prohexadione-calcium, 25 g/l) in winter rapeseed var. Vitovt and Mazari and Mercedes hybrids is shown. The application of the preparation in the phase of 4–5 leaves at the application rate of 1,5 l/ha reduces the height of the growing point by 47,

Winter rapeseed performance in the southeastern Coastal Plain
Journal of Soil and Water Conservation, 1988Fifty-five rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) cultivars were evaluated between 1982 and 1987 on a Norfolk loamy sand (fine, loamy, siliceous, thermic Typic Paleudult) near Florence, South Carolina. The average seed yield (1,590 kg/ha or 1,420 pounds/acre) was comparable to that at other southern locations where rapeseed is grown as a winter annual, but it ...

Desired quality attributes in winter and summer rapeseed
Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1982AbstractQuality assurance programs have played a significant role in rehabilitating and maintaining the importance of rapeseed and its products. In Europe, the processing of indigenous and Canadian rapeseed ensures unifrom plant utilization throughout the year which in itself contributes to improving quality. Indigenous rapeseed is predominantly of the

Early maturing variety of winter rapeseed Aktiv
Oil CropsThe early maturing variety Aktiv was developed as a result of the individual selection combined with selfpollination of plants from a hybrid population (No. 38787 х a variety Express), which was conducted during eight progenies with estimation in breeding nurseries of 1st and 2nd studying years. Then the best lines were included into a control nursery,
