From armed roots to airline routes in South America: A dual imprinting perspective

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, Volume 47, Issue 8, Page 2235-2271, August 2026.
Abstract Reserch Summary We propose that founding partner relationships can leave distinct imprints on organizations that differ in durability and in how they respond to subsequent changes involving the founding partner. Examining South American airlines founded between 1919 and 1984, we argue and find that such relationships simultaneously create an ...

High‐Resolution Particle Imaging Reveals the Importance of Phytodetrital Aggregate Flux and Mesopelagic Grazing for Carbon Storage in the Southern Ocean

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 40, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract The biological, chemical, and physical processes in the mesopelagic zone that impact carbon flux to the deep ocean are poorly understood, particularly in the Southern Ocean, despite their importance to deep ocean carbon storage. Using a CTD‐mounted underwater imaging system, the Underwater Vision Profiler 5, we observed distributions of large ...

A Contrasting TEC Behavior Over the Low‐Latitude Post‐Midnight Sector During Recovery Phases of May and October 2024 Storms: Possible Role of PPEF, DDEF, and O/N2

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract The present study reports on the variability of the post‐midnight ionosphere over the low‐latitude sector during the recovery phases of the May and October 2024 storms. Multi‐instrument observations, comprising global navigation satellite system total electron content (TEC), F‐layer peak height, electron density profiles, and column O/N2 ...

Social network dynamics under experimental manipulations of predation risk and food abundance in wild rock hyraxes

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 95, Issue 8, Page 1339-1357, August 2026.
This study combines replicated experimental manipulation, social network analysis, network permutations and meta‐analysis to disentangle active from spatially‐induced changes in animal network structure in the wild. It reveals that short‐term environmental changes primarily alter space use, with limited effects on social structure.

Daily relationship between air pollution and physical activity in an industrial region

open access: yesApplied Psychology: Health and Well-Being, Volume 18, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Physical activity (PA) is essential for physical and mental health, yet remains insufficient across populations. Environmental factors, such as air pollution (AP), are increasingly recognized as dynamic influences on daily PA behavior. This study investigated within‐person relationships between AP (particulate matter PM₁₀) and device‐based PA (
