Influence of microelements-synergists on the yield and quality of winter wheat grain

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences, 2020
The article contains the results of winter wheat cultivation in the forest steppe of the Middle Volga region, as a result of the use of microelements. The object of research is winter soft wheat of the variety Saratovskaya 17.

Field Trials and Baking Studies of Ultra‐Low Asparagine, Genome Edited (CRISPR/Cas9) and Mutant (TILLING) Wheat

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Field trials were conducted of wheat (Triticum aestivum) cv. Cadenza in which asparagine synthetase gene, TaASN2, had been knocked out, either on its own or together with a partial knockout of the related gene, TaASN1, using CRISPR/Cas9. Chemical mutagenesis (TILLING) TaASN2 nulls in the Claire background were also included.

Utilizing Multivariate Genomic Prediction to Predict Wheat Spike Characteristics in Soft Red Winter Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

open access: yesPlant Breeding, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Genomic prediction (GP) can increase genetic gain by allowing for the selection of traits earlier in the breeding cycle. Spike morphology traits are of interest because of their relationship with grain yield. To better understand the prediction capabilities of agronomic traits and spike architecture traits, a population of 594 soft red winter ...

EFRC Cereal Variety and Mixture Trials 2001 – Preliminary Results [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Of 7 winter wheats grown at 3 sites in southern England in 2001, the highest yielding was the soft wheat Claire; the breadmaking varieties Hereward, Shamrock and Spark did well. Of the feed wheats, Aardvark outyielded Deben.

Infrared Thermal Imaging Enhanced Selection Intensity for Fusarium Head Blight Resistance in Soft Winter Wheat

open access: yesPlant Breeding, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Development of Fusarium head blight (FHB)‐resistant winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) varieties relies heavily on visual scoring for large‐scale field evaluations. However, visual assessment of FHB symptoms remains a bottleneck in FHB resistance breeding due to its inherent subjectivity. At a single‐spike scale under greenhouse conditions, a

Elasticities for U.S. Wheat Food Use by Class [PDF]

open access: yes
We conceptualize wheat for food use as an input into flour production and derive demand functions to quantify price responsiveness and economic substitutability across wheat classes.

Phytohormonal and Transcriptomic Mechanisms of Multigenerational Stress Memory in Wheat Under Weed Competition

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Multigenerational stress exposure induces stress memory in plants, influencing resource allocation, defence mechanisms, and productivity. Weed competition imposes both resource‐based (abiotic) and allelopathic (biotic) stress, engaging overlapping hormonal pathways.
