Feminist Temporalities of Agrarian‐Climate Crises: Synchronisation and the Afterlives of Speculation in India

open access: yesAntipode, Volume 58, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper brings a feminist temporal perspective to understandings of agrarian‐climate crises in monsoon‐dependent regions of India, examining how time operates as a site of material struggle and social differentiation. Drawing on ethnographic research in Vidarbha, it explores how farmers synchronise diverse temporalities to navigate ...

Monitoring questing winter tick abundance on traditional moose hunting lands

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management
AbstractAn important symbolic and subsistence animal for many Native American Tribes, the moose (Alces alces; mos in Algonquin, Penobscot language) has been under consistent threat in the northeastern United States because of winter tick (Dermacentor albipictus) parasitism over the past several decades, causing declines in moose populations throughout ...

Gut Microbiome Diversity, Functional Potential, and Ecological Relevance of Hottentotta tamulus

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 5, October 2026.
Long‐read 16S sequencing uncovers the gut microbiome of H. tamulus. A highly conserved and low‐diversity bacterial community dominates the gut fauna. Bacillus and Mycoplasma lineages emerge as predominant candidate endosymbionts. Exploratory profiles reveal potential sex‐specific trends in microbial abundance.

Students' Construction, Evaluation, and Revision of Scientific Models Through Multimodal Representations

open access: yesJournal of Research in Science Teaching, Volume 63, Issue 8, Page 771-799, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Scientific modeling is the process by which students negotiate and peer review scientific models. This practice involves applying a set of criteria to evaluate the accuracy and validity of those models. However, previous studies have not adequately considered the role of different modes in facilitating such evaluation and revision.

Pre‐Eruptive Volatiles and Magma Storage Depth for the 2018 Eruption at Mount Veniaminof, Alaska

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Mount Veniaminof is a frequently active, open‐system arc volcano on the Alaska Peninsula, part of the Alaska‐Aleutian arc. Mount Veniaminof's September–December 2018 eruption began with small lava flows and culminated in a larger explosive event in November that produced a 450 km long continuous ash plume—one of the volcano's most significant ...

Fifty Years Later: Revisiting Viking 2 Seismic Signals Through InSight

open access: yesAGU Advances, Volume 7, Issue 7, October 2026.
Abstract For nearly 50 years, the origin of the candidate seismic signals recorded by Viking 2 remained unresolved because of limited instrumental sensitivity, onboard observation, data compression, and the absence of Martian seismic context. Here we reconstruct the Viking seismic workflow and reinterpret the two Viking candidate events, recorded on ...
