Modeling of cutting speed (CS) for HSLA steel in wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) using moly wire

Journal of the Chinese Institute of Engineers, Transactions of the Chinese Institute of Engineers,Series A/Chung-kuo Kung Ch'eng Hsuch K'an, 2016
AbstractThe high capital costs of wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) equipment necessitate optimal utilization of the WEDM process and equipment. Cutting speed (CS) is a key performance measure to achieve this objective. However, process parameters of WEDM greatly hamper CS and hence productivity and machining efficiency.

An Overview of Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM)

2021
WEDM is not a traditional machining process. The process is based on a thermo-electrical energy system. In this process, any mechanical connection between the electrode (wire) and the workpiece is not required for cutting any object. To establish a contact within the wire and the work object, different dielectric fluids are used.

Supervised Machine Learning in Wire Cut Electric Discharge Machining (WEDM)

2020
Wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) technology has grown tremendously since it was first introduced about 40 years back. In 1974, D. H. Dulebohn applied the optical-line follower system to automatically control the shape of the components to be machined by the WEDM process.

Fabrication of miniaturized Schottky emitter by wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM)

Microelectronic Engineering, 2008
The Schottky emitter is extensively used in scanning electron beam lithography machines because of its high brightness and stable current. For its use in parallel electron beam lithography to increase the throughput, we are investigating the possibility of creating an array of miniaturized Schottky emitters.

Effect of wire electrode materials on die-corner accuracy for Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) of Inconel 718

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2018
Abstract In present investigation to analyzed the effects of tool electrode on machinability of Inconel 718 using wire electrical discharge machining. An L16 orthogonal array has been used for experimentation by considering machine controllable factors (i.e. pulse on time, wire speed, flushing pressure and discharge current).

Effect of Conventional and Ecological Dielectric on the Wire Electrical Discharge Machining WEDM Process on AISI-D3 Steel

2021
AISI-D3 steel is in high demand in the industry to manufacture special tools, dies and stamping tools. WEDM machining is an efficient alternative process for cutting steels that are difficult to machine by conventional processes. However, its parameters must be properly adjusted to achieve an adequate level of machining performance.
