Localizing multiple audio sources in a wireless acoustic sensor network

Signal Processing, 2015
In this work, we propose a grid-based method to estimate the location of multiple sources in a wireless acoustic sensor network, where each sensor node contains a microphone array and only transmits direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimates in each time interval, reducing the transmissions to the central processing node.

Audio coding in wireless acoustic sensor networks

Signal Processing, 2015
In this paper, we consider the problem of source coding for a wireless acoustic sensor network where each node in the network makes its own noisy measurement of the sound field, and communicates with other nodes in the network by sending and receiving encoded versions of the measurements.

Blind Synchronization in Wireless Acoustic Sensor Networks

IEEE/ACM Transactions on Audio, Speech, and Language Processing, 2017
The challenge of blindly resynchronizing the data acquisition processes in a wireless acoustic sensor network (WASN) is addressed in this paper. The sampling rate offset (SRO) is precisely modeled as a time scaling. The applicability of a wideband correlation processor for estimating the SRO, even in a reverberant and multiple source environment, is ...

Shooter localization in wireless acoustic sensor networks

2017 IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications (ISCC), 2017
This paper introduces a feasibility study of a low cost and power effective wireless acoustic sensor network for shooter localization. Currently deployed sensors for this application use a time domain gunshot signal analysis and high sampling rates, in the order of MS/s.
