Stimulated Forward Brillouin Scattering in Subwavelength Grating Silicon Membranes
This work proposes a novel strategy to achieve large Brillouin scattering with independent control of the optical and mechanical modes using subwavelength silicon membranes. This work demonstrates a high‐fidelity stability transfer from an optical reference to a high‐repetition‐rate microcomb using a mode‐locked laser bridge. By employing electro‐optic sampling timing detection, femtosecond‐level synchronization and 10−18‐level fractional frequency stability are achieved.

An autonomous network of acoustic detectors to map tiger risk by eavesdropping on prey alarm calls
Tiger population recovery brings with it increased fatalities from human‐tiger conflict. We describe a network of autonomous intelligent passive acoustic sensors that monitor the forest for deer alarm calls as a proxy for tiger risk and provide a risk map to local communities in real‐time.
