Wireless ad-hoc networks

open access: yes, 2008
Wireless ad-hoc networks became more and more popular in the past few years, owing to their use of deployment. In such a network, the hosts (or nodes) exchange data packets via radio links, without resorting to any hierarchic scheme nor supervisory control.

Testing the applicability of the Parenting Occupations and Purposes Framework in an Irish context

open access: yesAustralian Occupational Therapy Journal, Volume 73, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Introduction Understanding the form, function, and meaning of occupations is essential for effective occupational therapy practice. Parenting is widely recognised as a meaningful and valued occupation. The Parenting Occupations and Purposes (POP) Framework conceptualises parenting occupations and their underlying purposes, but its validity in ...

A Stochastic Geometry Analysis of Hybrid Cellular-Adhoc CDMA Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Information and Communication Technology Research, 2011
This paper studies the impact of using multihop wireless adhoc network in conjunction with cellular networks under a probabilistic routing strategy. Our objective is to obtain the outage probability of the twodimensional hybrid CDMA network under path ...

Evaluating the efficacy of tagging adhesives for insect tracking

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, Volume 28, Issue 3, Page 515-521, August 2026.
Two‐part epoxy resin delivered the strongest RFID tag adhesion on carabid beetles, exceeding polyvinyl acetate, cosmetic latex and cyanoacrylate adhesives. Adhesive performance was consistent across Harpalus, Leistus and Poecilus; species effects were non‐significant, supporting a broadly applicable protocol for carabid RFID tagging studies.

Daily relationship between air pollution and physical activity in an industrial region

open access: yesApplied Psychology: Health and Well-Being, Volume 18, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract Physical activity (PA) is essential for physical and mental health, yet remains insufficient across populations. Environmental factors, such as air pollution (AP), are increasingly recognized as dynamic influences on daily PA behavior. This study investigated within‐person relationships between AP (particulate matter PM₁₀) and device‐based PA (

Shared and specific molecular mechanisms of proteasome inhibitors in chemotherapy‐induced peripheral neurotoxicity

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 16, Page 5120-5147, August 2026.
This study compares the molecular mechanisms of chemotherapy‐related peripheral neurotoxicity of two proteasome inhibitors, bortezomib and carfilzomib, using a multidisciplinary approach to reveal that, alongside shared effects on mitochondria structure and function, the more neurotoxic drug BTZ has specific effects on microtubules and mitochondrial ...

Fn14 signalling participates in pristane‐induced murine lupus through exacerbating oxidative stress

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 16, Page 5102-5119, August 2026.
Background and Purpose Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease characterized by oxidative stress and immune dysregulation. Fibroblast growth factor‐inducible 14 (Fn14) has been implicated in tissue injury, but its specific role in SLE pathogenesis remains unclear.
