Routing for multi-antenna Wireless Mesh Network backhaul
2007 Second International Conference on Access Networks & Workshops, 2007The goal of this contribution is to show which practical routing approach, for wireless mesh network (WMN) backhaul, is the best for systems presenting a constraint on the total power to be emitted be network nodes by modeling rounting as a power allocation problem.

Fiber-wireless technology for small cell backhauling
2015 17th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2015In this paper, we review some work we have carried out in the area of fiber-based small cell backhauling in particular focussing on the energy efficient transport schemes and network planning. Our study shows that for densely packed small cells in an urban scenario, analog transport of the wireless signals over the optical link is most energy efficient.

Multilevel millimeter wave beamforming for wireless backhaul
2011 IEEE GLOBECOM Workshops (GC Wkshps), 2011Due to the projected increased demand for high data rate mobile services, interest has grown in new cellular network architectures such as a tiered networks. This paper proposes a beam searching algorithm and a codebook design for multilevel beamforming in outdoor millimeter wave communication systems.

TCP optimization in wireless mesh backhaul networks
2008 3rd International Symposium on Wireless Pervasive Computing, 2008This paper deals with the analysis of cross-layer approaches to TCP performance enhancement in wireless multi-hop networks. The work has been carried out within the MEMBRANE project, which aims to design and develop a reconfigurable multi-antenna, multi-hop wireless backhaul network.

MIMO wireless backhaul enabled by IPT forwarding
2010 17th International Conference on Telecommunications, 2010Wireless backhaul has been received much attention as an enabler of future broadband mobile communication systems because it can reduce deployment cost of pico-cells, an essential part of high capacity system. A high performance network in terms of high throughput, low average delay and low packet loss rate, is highly appreciated to sustain the ...

Wireless backhaul for LTE - service OAM considerations
2009 IEEE 3rd International Symposium on Advanced Networks and Telecommunication Systems (ANTS), 20093GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) is a Next Generation (4G) Wireless Technology, providing an evolutionary path for 3G/UMTS deployments. The LTE network architecture is based on a flat all-IP architecture which requires a full mesh connectivity between the LTE evolved Base stations (eNBs).
