Increasing the Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) Link Efficiency by High Gain Helices [PDF]

open access: yes2021 IEEE Texas Symposium on Wireless and Microwave Circuits and Systems (WMCS), 2021
In this study we compare helix and patch array antenna characteristics for wireless power transfer (WPT). It will be shown that the helices offer higher link efficiency for a similar beam scanning limit compared to patch antenna elements. We provide 12-by-12 element planar array results for both cases at different element spacings.
