Advancements in Large‐Area Photoelectrochemical Water‐Splitting Devices: A Mini‐Survey of Photoelectrode Materials for Commercial Viability

We have reviewed recent progress in photoelectrode materials for large‐area PEC water splitting to enable efficient solar hydrogen production. Approaches, including doping, tandem configurations, and heterojunction formation, improve light absorption and charge separation, while co‐catalyst integration enhances stability.
