Underground wireless sensor networks
2009 IEEE 10th Annual Wireless and Microwave Technology Conference, 2009In this paper the possibility to construct wireless sensor networks buried in the terrain is discussed. Advantages and drawbacks are pointed out, and an analysis of the most efficient method to evaluate the effect of radio-link parameters on radio propagation is provided.

A Wireless Sensor Network Testbed
2010 8th Annual Communication Networks and Services Research Conference, 2010Key design requirements for wireless sensor network (WSN) applications revolve around long battery life, low cost, small footprint and mesh-networking in supporting communication between large numbers of devices in an interoperable and multi-application environment.

Mobility in Wireless Sensor Networks
2013Abstract Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are poised to significantly enhance a number of missions in the military, civilian, and industrial arenas. Recently, there has been a significant interest in the design of algorithms for exploiting sensor mobility. The motivation of these designs is mainly to enhance coverage in the deployment field.

Neural Wireless Sensor Networks
2006 International Conference on Systems and Networks Communications (ICSNC'06), 2006We present an overview of embedded network applications and discuss requirements arising from this analysis. Furthermore, we discuss selected in-network processing techniques and point out the analogy between neural and sensor networks. In the following neural networks are introduced in the sensor network context.

Design of Wireless Sensors for Automobiles
2005Automobile manufacturers require sense data to analyse and improve the driving experience. Currently, sensors are physically wired to both data collectors and the car battery, thus the number of wires scale linearly with sensors. We design alternative power and communications subsystems to minimise these wires’ impact on the test environment.

Wireless Sensors and Sensors Network
2013A sensor is a device that measures a physical quantity and usually converts it into an electrical signal which can be read by an observer or by an instrument. A sensor generates an electrical signal related to a physical, biological or chemical parameter.
