Polar codes for private classical communication [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We construct a new secret-key assisted polar coding scheme for private classical communication over a quantum or classical wiretap channel. The security of our scheme rests on an entropic uncertainty relation, in addition to the channel polarization ...

Unimodular lattices for the Gaussian Wiretap Channel [PDF]

open access: yes2010 IEEE Information Theory Workshop, 2010
In a recent paper, the authors introduced a lattice invariant called "Secrecy Gain" which measures the confusion experienced by a passive eavesdropper on the Gaussian Wiretap Channel. We study, here, the behavior of this invariant for unimodular lattices by using tools from Modular Forms and show that, for some families of unimodular lattices, indexed ...

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Wiretap Channel with Action-Dependent Channel State Information

open access: yesEntropy, 2013
In this paper, we investigate the model of wiretap channel with action-dependent channel state information. Given the message to be communicated, the transmitter chooses an action sequence that affects the formation of the channel states, and then ...

Coding Schemes for Achieving Strong Secrecy at Negligible Cost

open access: yes, 2016
We study the problem of achieving strong secrecy over wiretap channels at negligible cost, in the sense of maintaining the overall communication rate of the same channel without secrecy constraints. Specifically, we propose and analyze two source-channel

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Wiretap Channel in the Presence of Action-Dependent States and Noiseless Feedback

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
We investigate the wiretap channel in the presence of action-dependent states and noiseless feedback. Given the message to be communicated, the transmitter chooses an action sequence that affects the formation of the channel states and then generates the

High‐Temperature Nanoindentation of Metals: Assessing Thermal Drift, Frame Compliance, and Chemical Composition Effects on the Reported Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Ergodic secrecy capacity for downlink multiuser networks using switch‐and‐examine combining with post‐selection scheduling scheme

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2016
A novel threshold‐based scheduling scheme for multiuser downlink wiretap networks is addressed, which consist of a base station (BS), multiple legitimate users and multiple eavesdroppers.
