ABSTRACT Background Cognitive impairment and depression are common comorbidities in people with epilepsy (PWE). This study investigated the extent to which the severity of depression affects specific cognitive domains and quality of life (QOL) in PWE.

Local-global principles for witt rings
For a collection \({\mathbf K}\) of algebraic extensions of a field \(K\) there is the natural homomorphism of the Witt ring \(W(K)\) into the sheaf product of the Witt rings of fields in \({\mathbf K}\). Conditions are studied under which the homomorphism turns out to be surjective or bijective.

Perceptions of Game‐Based Assessments: The Role of Test Takers' Occupational Background
ABSTRACT Game‐based assessments (GBAs) have become increasingly popular in personnel selection. However, research on perceptions of GBAs has yielded mixed results, highlighting the need to explore variables that may shape perceptions of GBAs. Therefore, we examined whether test takers' occupational background and other person‐related characteristics (i.

Astrocyte Regulation of Spinal Circuit Function
Spinal cord astrocytes exist as an additional component of the computational framework that governs both sensory perceptions and motor outputs (left). By integrating local synaptic activity together with signals that reflect whole‐body state (e.g., neuromodulators, immune signals, and vascular signals) into defined input states (Sn), astrocytes adapt ...

Witt-Grothendieck rings and π-Henselianity
For a field \(F\) of characteristic not 2 let \(\widehat{\text{W}}(\Sigma \dot{F}^2)\) denote the subring of the Witt-Grothendieck ring \(\widehat{\text{W}}(F)\) of \(F\) generated by sums of squares. A valuation ring \(A\) of \(F\) is called \(\pi\)-Henselian if \(A\) extends uniquely to the Pythagorean closure of \(F\).

ABSTRACT This study investigates the impact of extensive visual procedural training on the temporal organisation of sleep spindles in healthy young adults. We selected 39 participants aged 16–20 and employed high‐density electroencephalography to assess spindle characteristics during two full nights of sleep, with daytime practising in a contour ...

Witt rings of global function fields
\textit{F. DeMeyer}, \textit{D. Harrison} and \textit{R. Miranda} [Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 394, 1--42 (1989; Zbl 0668.10028)] described the Witt ring \(W({\mathbb Q})\) of the rational number field \(\mathbb Q\) by defining the ring structure on an explicitly constructed set \(V(\mathbb Q)\) and showing that the rings \(W({\mathbb Q})\) and \(V(\mathbb Q)\)
