The Role of Ultra‐Thin Buffer Layers for Achieving Ultra‐Low Dark Currents in Single‐Component Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 48, 15 June 2026.
Here, SubNc single‐component organic photodiodes (SC‐OPDs) are investigated, which achieve highly competitive performance metrics, including high EQE, ultra‐low JD, and high specific detectivity (D*). This study emphasizes the critical role of an organic buffer layer in studying the interface energetics and effects to achieve state‐of‐the‐art ...

The efficacy of an online self‐administered single session intervention to promote growth mindset in adolescents: A randomised controlled trial

open access: yesJCPP Advances, Volume 6, Issue 2, June 2026.
We examined the efficacy of an online growth mindset single session intervention (SSI) for young people aged 14–18 years old in the UK. 104 participants were randomised to a registered clinical trial. Intention‐to‐treat analysis yielded negligible effect sizes for anxiety and depression symptoms, whereas the effect on personality mindset was ...

Rights, Pains and Illusions: The Experiences of Welsh‐Speakers at Wales’ ‘Flagship’ Prison

open access: yesThe Howard Journal of Crime and Justice, Volume 65, Issue 2, Page 142-154, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This article challenges claims of ‘inherent’ bilingualism in Wales’ largest prison, HMP Berwyn. Drawing on semi‐structured interviews and extensive documentary research, we find that Welsh‐speaking prisoners at this ‘flagship’ prison have experienced widespread neglect of their needs and overt interferences with their use of the Welsh language.

Silanes to Silatranes: Robust Functionalization for Single‐Molecule Force Spectroscopy

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 9, 14 May 2026.
3‐(aminopropyl)silatrane (APS) has superior stability for surface functionalization in single‐molecule force spectroscopy experiments compared to conventional silane‐based methods. This paper utilizes bacterial adhesin attachment to demonstrate the advantages of APS‐based surface functionalization in single‐molecule unfolding experiments of a model ...
