Selected WLS Literature

1981
The preceding chapters have amply demonstrated the use of WLS methodology in public health and public affairs and shown the flexibility of the approach. In this chapter we describe some advanced applications and discuss recent theoretical developments which extend the range of problems suitable for treatment in the WLS framework.

Student Support to WL/ML and WL/AA

1993
Abstract : This Technical Report gives a summary of the research performed in the materials and optical sciences in support of the Wright Laboratory Materials Directorate under a Student Support contract. The report contains an abstract covering the nature of the research and the results for each of 111 tasks completed under the ...

ON WLS-CHEBYSHEV FIR DIGITAL FILTERS

Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers, 1999
A new numerical approach for designing FIR digital filters is proposed. The method is able to compromise maximum stopband attenuation and minimum stopband energy requirements. The approach is based on the weighted-least-squares (WLS) method using, at each iteration, a different weight function, which is made constant within a given frequency interval.

WL Operation Procedure

1987
The particular geological and technical conditions in the Kola well necessitated the development of special logging techniques with various WL tools. Such techniques were developed by institutes engaged in devising WL apparatus and methods and by the Kola Experimental-Methodical geophysical crew.

Sampling, WLS, and Mixed Models

Statistics in Biopharmaceutical Research, 2011
Mixed models may be defined with or without reference to sampling, and can be used to predict realized random effects, as when estimating the latent values of study subjects measured with response error. When the model is specified without reference to sampling, a simple mixed model includes two random variables, one stemming from an exchangeable ...

On the properties (wL) and (wV)

Mathematica Slovaca, 2016
Abstract We characterize Banach spaces X with spaces with property (wL), i.e. spaces with the property that every L-subset of X* is weakly precompact. We prove that a Banach space X has property (wL) if and only if for any Banach space Y, any completely continuous operator T : X → Y has weakly precompact adjoint if and only if any ...

Mid-IR PAH Emission in YSOs WL 16 & WL 22

1996
We present 8–24µm spectra of the YSOs WL 16 & WL22 which lie in the Ophiuchus star forming region. Both were modelled by Adams Lada & Shu 1987 as Class I objects with deep 9.7µm silicate features. Our spectroscopy however shows PAH features which are not seen in other Ophiuchus YSOs studied.

Korrosionsverhalten des Stahls WL 1.3964

Materials and Corrosion, 2007

(Wl-1041)-Beyond Inevitability

Economic & Political Weekly
This article offers a critical response to Yi Lyu’s article “An Inevitable Pandemic” (EPW, 14 June 2025), challenging the framing of the COVID-19 crisis as an inevitable outcome of capitalism. While Lyu foregrounds capitalism’s exploitative and profit-driven nature, he overlooks how capitalist systems resorted to socialist principles—such as wage ...
