Bisphenol A Induces DNA Damage and Differential Cytotoxicity in Thyroid Cells: High‐Dose Effects Challenge Regulatory Thresholds

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bisphenol A (BPA), a ubiquitous environmental endocrine disruptor, has been implicated in carcinogenesis; however, its effects on thyroid cells remain unclear. This study investigated BPA‐induced cytotoxicity and genotoxicity in thyroid cell lines, including normal follicular (Nthy‐ori 3‐1), papillary carcinoma (TPC‐1 and BCPAP) and anaplastic

Effect of feed restriction and different crude protein sources on the performance, health status and carcass traits of growing rabbits

open access: yesWorld Rabbit Science, 2015
We evaluate the effect of the crude protein source (CP) in combination with 2 feeding strategies (AL: ad libitum or R: restricted) on the performance, health status and carcass traits of growing-fattening rabbits (between 33 and 75 d of age).

Finite‐Time Disturbance Observer‐Based Nonlinear Robust Adaptive Control of Hydraulic Manipulator With Parameter Identification

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydraulic manipulators exhibit strong coupling, pronounced nonlinearities, and significant modeling uncertainties, which hinder high‐precision motion control. This paper proposes a finite‐time disturbance observer–based nonlinear robust adaptive control (RAC‐FTDO) framework enhanced by a physically consistent dynamic parameter identification ...

Robust localisation methods based on modified skipped filter weighted least squares algorithm

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation
Robust localisation techniques that utilise distance observations to determine the location are focused upon. In urban environments with limited visibility and high population density, the presence of non‐line‐of‐sight signals can introduce a positive ...

An Exact Method for Reliable Shortest Path Problems With Correlation

open access: yesNetworks, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Shortest path problems often arise in contexts where travel times are uncertain. In these settings, reliable paths are often valued more than paths with lower expected travel times. This has led to several variants of reliable shortest path problems (RSPP) that handle travel time reliability differently. We propose an algorithmic framework for

Fish loss in tropical coastal ecosystems can jeopardise nutrient supply to traditional fishing communities: A case study from Northeast Brazil

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Fisheries constitute one of the major benefits that oceans provide for people. Yet anthropogenic pressures and global changes are disrupting coastal systems, eroding marine biodiversity and threatening the food security of traditional populations.

Clearing the Air: How Fine Particulate Matter Regulations Reshape Farmland Values in U.S. Corn and Soybean Regions

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We investigate the impact of air quality regulations targeting fine particulate matter (PM2.5) on farmland values in corn and soybean producing counties in the United States over the period 1997–2022. Using self‐reported farmland value data from the Agricultural Census and county‐level pollution classifications provided by the Environmental ...

Environmental Performance Evaluation Under the Frontier Analysis Framework: A Farm‐Level Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Quantifying and improving the environmental performance (EP) of agriculture has become an urgent research and policy priority. Over the past three decades, frontier‐based analytical frameworks have been widely applied to evaluate farm‐level EP.

Comparing of organic nutrients digestibility in the feed rations containing lupin and peas in horses

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2005
The aim of this study was to find out and compare organic nutrients digestibility in feed rations containing different forage legumes in balance trials on horses. The trials were always performed on a group of six sports horses (weight of 495 to 742 kg).

The “White line sign”: A novel sonographic soft marker of pelvic endometriosis

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
The “White line sign” represents thickening of the subperitoneal tissue overlying the anterior pouch of Douglas on transvaginal ultrasound. It demonstrated high specificity for detecting superficial endometriosis and high specificity, sensitivity, and accuracy for deep endometriosis. It was also reproducible and could be a useful soft ultrasound marker
