Effects of Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) Additives on the Properties of WMA Mixtures
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013The objective of this research was to investigate the influence of Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) additives on asphalt mixture properties through the laboratory testing programs such as air voids, tensile strength ratio (TSR), dynamic stability, and low temperature bending failure strain tests. The experimental design included the use of three WMA additives of

The Upper Vaal WMA extends over four provinces, namely Gauteng, North-West, Mpumalanga, as well as Free State province. It does not directly share any rivers with neighbouring countries. Large quantities of water are transferred into the Upper Vaal WMA from the Lesotho Highlands Project, as well as through catchment transfers to and from neighbouring ...

Fracture Behavior of WMA Concretes
2020This chapter deals with the fracture behavior of warm mix asphalt (WMA) concretes. The effects of different parameters including mode of loading (i.e., pure mode I, pure mode II, and mixed mode I/II), temperature, crumb rubber, fiber (e.g., jute, kenaf, etc.), and aggregate type on fracture resistance of WMA mixtures are reviewed.

Workability of WMA and WMA-RAP mixtures and relationship to field compaction
2014ABSTRACT: The terms workability and compactability have been applied to asphalt mixtures to describe the relative ease with which material can be placed, hand worked, or compacted. A number of methods described in literature have been investigated to quantify this parameter, including devices that measure the torque required to rotate a mixing ...
