Adult Sex Ratio as a Demographic Feedback Linking Mating Systems, Parental Care, and Evolution
Breeding systems are some of the most diverse social behavior, and our team is investigation the evolutionary causes of this diversity. This review summarises our research carried out at the University of Bath. We argue that demographic components of wild populations, especially the adult sex ratio, plays a key role driving breeding system variation ...

A regenerative strategy for stroke combines human stem cell–derived neural progenitor cells with sustained release of a matrix‐modifying, thermostable chondroitinase ABC‐37 enzyme. In a rat model of stroke, co‐delivery enhanced transplanted cell survival and neuronal differentiation, degraded inhibitory extracellular matrix components, and improved ...

Understanding and Designing Phase Change Materials: Insights From Atom Probe Tomography
Atom probe tomography can distinguish metallic, covalent, and metavalent bonds based upon their bond rupture; in particular, the probability to form more than one ion (PME) in laser‐assisted field evaporation. These findings open new avenues in understanding and designing phase change materials (PCMs) since they allow quantification of bonds in solids ...

Soul-Life: Richard Jefferies’ Mystical Vision of Nature
This paper examines Richard Jefferies’ contribution to the study of nature mysticism. I argue that the study of nature mysticism can be utilized as a valuable source of insight to cultivate a more ecocentric response to the ecological crisis ...

Immersion and distance in fictional worlds
Based on the notion of immersion as developed by Jean-Marie Schaeffer, the article examines the readers’ relationship with fictional worlds. It compares the temporal succession of the exposition, the knot, the adventures, and the denouement of a plot ...

Endothelin receptor type A (EDNRA) and the Hippo/YAP pathway form a self‐reinforcing loop that sustains triple‐negative breast cancer. EDNRA activates YAP through Gαq/11–Rho/ROCK–LATS signaling, while YAP/TEAD4 reciprocally drives EDNRA transcription.

The San Miguel Artist Project: A Grounded Theory of "The Emergence of Wonder"
This article employs classical grounded theory methodology to explain the creative process of artists. Two integrally connected core variables are identified: emergence and wonder. Wonder represents the experience that motivates and sustains the creation

Dual Lineages of Langerhans Cells Cooperate to Restore the Immune Barrier after Skin Injury
After skin injury, the epidermal immune barrier is rebuilt by two sources of Langerhans cells. Resident Langerhans cells first move into the wound during re‐epithelialization, guided by CXCR2 signaling. Later, recruited monocytes become long‐lived Langerhans cells.
