Effect of biomass ash in catalytic fast pyrolysis of pine wood
Fast pyrolysis experiments of pine wood have been performed in a continuously operated mechanically stirred bed reactor at 500°C. The effects of the pine wood ash were studied by comparing non-catalytic and catalytic experiments (using a ZSM-5 based catalyst) with their ash-added counterparts.

Faecal-wood biomass co-combustion and ash composition analysis [PDF]
Fuel blending is a widely used approach in biomass combustion, particularly for feedstocks with low calorific value and high moisture content. In on-site sanitation technologies, fuel blending is proposed as a pre-treatment requirement to reduce moisture levels and improve the physiochemical properties of raw faeces prior to drying.

Properties of Self-compacting Concrete Produced with Biomass Wood Ash [PDF]
The demand of the contemporary society for renewable energy sources lead to the increase of the bio-power plants. Accordingly, the amount of ash generated by burning the biomass is increased, and its disposal becomes a large environmental problem. The paper presents the research of potential use of biomass wood ash as a partial replacement for coal fly

Possibilities of Biomass Wood Ash Usage in Geopolymer Mixtures
This paper presents the results of testing the physical and mechanical properties and durability of geopolymer mixtures. Fly ash was used as the basic binder, while its replacement was performed with wood biomass ash.The initial and final setting time were tested on the geopolymer paste, while flow value and bulk density were tested on the fresh mortar.

Leaching Characteristics of Wood Biomass Fly Ash Cement Composites [PDF]
Wood biomass ash (WBA) represents an environmental and economic problem for energy producers, and there have been extensive studies of using WBA as a raw material in construction products. This study investigates the leaching characteristics of WBA cement composites based on testing results.

Utilization of Wood Biomass Ash in Concrete Industry
The use of energy from wood biomass plants results in the production of large quantities of wood biomass ash (WBA). Most of the WBA is disposed of and some are used as a soil supplement in agriculture. In the concrete industry, there is a high potential for substitution of certain components with suitable alternative materials.
