Knock on Wood: The Effects of Material Choice on the Perception of Social Robots
Many people who interact with robots in the near future will not have prior experience, and they are likely to intuitively form their first impressions of the robot based on its appearance. This paper explores the effects of component material on people’s perception of the robots in terms of social attributes and willingness to interact.

Transfer of Energy and Momentum Between Magnetoactive Surface Microstructure and a Solid Object
We demonstrate that magnetoactive multilamellar arrays subjected to a rotating magnetic field can function as platforms for controlled transport of physical objects. Through systematic experimental investigation, we elucidate the underlying physical mechanisms determining the upper limit of the achievable transportation speed in such magnetic “conveyor‐

A wood‐based magnetic and conductive material called Magwood (MW), capable of blocking almost 99.99% of electromagnetic waves (in the X‐band frequency range), is synthesized using a simple, solvent‐free process. MW is lightweight, resists water, and is flame‐retardant, making it a promising alternative for shielding electronics. The rapid proliferation

Le bois entre nature et surnature. Pommiers et sapins, aubépines et coudriers
Wood, even when cut from its stalk and thus from its nourishing sap, does not wither. It is perhaps this astonishing quality that makes it not only a sacrificial fuel of choice, but also the vector par excellence of all regeneration, resurrection and ...

Nanotechnology approaches towards biodeterioration-resistant wood: A review
Wood can be a suitable alternative to energy-intensive materials in various applications. Nevertheless, its susceptibility to weathering and decay has significantly hindered the broad adoption of the most commercially significant wood species.
