Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Micromorphology, moisture sorption and mechanical properties of a biocomposite based on acetylated wood particles and cellulose ester

open access: yes, 2007
One of the major issues in a long-term perspective for the use of wood-plastic composites (WPCs) in outdoor applications is the moisture sensitivity of the wood component and the consequent dimensional instability and susceptibility to biological ...

Chemical characterization of cork, phloem and wood from different Quercus suber provenances and trees

open access: yesHeliyon, 2019
Sustainability of cork oak (Quercus suber) forests is threatened by biotic and abiotic factors and characterization of potentially differing genetic resources has therefore gained importance.

NUTRIENT CONCENTRATION OF MG OF EUCALYPTUS PELLITA F. MUELL TREE COMPONENTS IN EAST KALIMANTAN, INDONESIA

open access: yesRussian Journal of Agricultural and Socio-Economic Sciences, 2021
Eucalyptus pellita F. Muell is a species cultivated in industrial forest plantations. Three circle plots (r = 12.6 m) were made for the plant ages of 1, 3, 5 and 13 years.

FTIR-ATR-based prediction and modelling of lignin and energy contents reveals independent intra-specific variation of these traits in bioenergy poplar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Background: there is an increasing demand for renewable resources to replace fossil fuels. However, different applications such as the production of secondary biofuels or combustion for energy production require different wood properties. Therefore, high-

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Research into the geometry of the delimbing head of cutting knives

open access: yesResearch in Agricultural Engineering, 2013
Limbing with a wedge tool as a chipless operation is accompanied by a large deformation of wood in the cutting plane, i.e. at the spot of contact with the tool face as well as in the zone adjacent to this plane.

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Correlation of wood properties with chemical composition and microstructure of wood components

open access: yes, 2023
Abstract In order to investigate the nature of the change of wood properties, to understand and master the deterioration mechanism of wood properties, this paper takes the wooden components replaced during the renovation of the Guhuaxuan in the Imperial Palace as the research object, nondestructive testing technology, chemical composition ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
