[Wood dust concentrations in wood processing industries].
Zeitschrift fur die gesamte Hygiene und ihre Grenzgebiete, 198968 mean values of airborne shift concentration of total dust were measured at 9 factories of woodworking industries. The values varied from 0.18 to 59.3 mg/m3 for area sampling. But at 63% of the woodworking machines with exhaustion the area sampling shift concentration of total dust reached fewer values than 5 mg/m3.

Properties and toxicity of airborne wood dust in woodworking establishments
Toxicology Letters, 1985The total suspended dust levels, particle shape and size distributions and metal concentrations (Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn) of wood dust in the breathing zone of 3 small wood-working establishments were monitored. In vitro culture assay indicated that the mortality of alveolar macrophage was related to the metal content of dust collected from ...

Dust Controls for a Wood Shaper
Applied Industrial Hygiene, 1987Abstract The purpose of this study was twofold: first, to characterize the wood dust emissions from a shaper; second, to see if a usable control could be developed to reduce emissions from the shaper. The study showed that a hardwood (red oak) generated about eight times as many dust particles as a soft wood (white pine), and particle board generated ...

Deposition of Inhaled Wood Dust in the Nasal Cavity
Inhalation Toxicology, 2007Detailed deposition patterns of inhaled wood dust in an anatomically accurate nasal cavity were investigated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques. Three wood dusts, pine dust, heavy oak dust, and light oak dust, with a particle size distribution generated by machining (Chung et al., 2000), were simulated at an inhalation flow rate of 10 ...

Levels of exposure to wood dust.
The Annals of occupational hygiene, 1992Surveys of exposure to inhalable dust have been carried out in two woodworking machine shops and five other woodworking shops where both manual and machine tool work is carried out. The Occupational Exposure Limits for wood dust were found to be frequently exceeded in some workshops.

Method of determination of exposure to wood dust of wood workers
2008Cilj je rada prikazati pouzdanost i učinkovitost nove fotometrijske metode određivanja masene koncentracije drvne prašine u usporedbi s dosadašnjom gravimetrijskom metodom. Na dva različita radna mjesta, pored širokotračne brusilice i višelisne kružne pile, pri obradi bukovine, sakupljani su uzorci čestica drvne prašine stacionarnom metodom.
