Integrative analysis of wood biomass and developing xylem transcriptome provide insights into mechanisms of lignin biosynthesis in wood formation of Pinus massoniana

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2020
Lignin is an important renewable energy source as an excellent new battery fuel and ideal substitutes for the petrochemical industry. However, the molecular mechanism underlying lignin biosynthesis in wood formation of P.

Systems genetics of wood formation

Current Opinion in Plant Biology, 2016
In woody plants, xylogenesis is an exceptionally strong carbon sink requiring robust transcriptional control and dynamic coordination of cellular and metabolic processes directing carbon allocation and partitioning into secondary cell wall biosynthesis.

Evolutionary network genomics of wood formation in a phylogenetic survey of angiosperm forest trees

New Phytologist, 2020
Wood formation was present in early angiosperms, but has been highly modified through evolution to generate the anatomical diversity seen in extant angiosperm lineages.

Wood Formation in Populus

2009
Developmental genetic, genomic and biochemical approaches in Populus are providing new insights into the molecular and genetic mechanisms regulating wood formation. We discuss here wood properties, new approaches for the study of wood formation, and the genes and hormones responsible for regulating wood formation in Populus.

NOx FORMATION IN GRATE COMBUSTION OF WOOD

Clean Air: International Journal on Energy for a Clean Environment, 2003
NOx formation in a bed of fuel particles is studied by modeling and by experiments with a continuously weighted pot furnace. The bed was ignited at the top and ignition front propagated down against the airflow. A sharp decrease in NO was usually detected just after the ignition wave reached the bottom of the bed.

Sucrose transport and carbon fluxes during wood formation.

Physiologia Plantarum : An International Journal for Plant Biology, 2018
Wood biosynthesis defines the chemical and structural properties of wood. The metabolic pathways that produce the precursors of wood cell wall polymers have a central role in defining wood properties.
