Features of Wood Impregnation with Water-Soluble Protective Agents
Wood impregnation with water-soluble agents is widely used in various industries. For example, in shipbuilding, this method of preparing raw materials is common in the manufacture of scaffolding: they are treated with fire retardants to meet fire safety ...

Tannin-boron wood preservatives [PDF]
Tannin-boron wood preservatives are alternative products to replace water-borne formulations based on copper. Interesting results in protection against fungus (pycnoporus sanguineus) were achieved with formulations based of 20% tannin solutions ...

Superconducting coils impregnated with Wood's metal
This report describes the stability of superconducting coils wound with fine multi-filamentary wires and impregnated with Wood's metal. The training effect and current degradation observed before impregnation are remarkably improved after impregnation. The instability of superconductin coils seems to originate in “wire movement” in the winding.

Transfer of Energy and Momentum Between Magnetoactive Surface Microstructure and a Solid Object
We demonstrate that magnetoactive multilamellar arrays subjected to a rotating magnetic field can function as platforms for controlled transport of physical objects. Through systematic experimental investigation, we elucidate the underlying physical mechanisms determining the upper limit of the achievable transportation speed in such magnetic “conveyor‐

A wood‐based magnetic and conductive material called Magwood (MW), capable of blocking almost 99.99% of electromagnetic waves (in the X‐band frequency range), is synthesized using a simple, solvent‐free process. MW is lightweight, resists water, and is flame‐retardant, making it a promising alternative for shielding electronics. The rapid proliferation
