Mitochondria contain two mitoribosome rescue factors, ICT1 and MTRFR (C12orf65). ICT1 also functions as a mitoribosomal protein in mice and humans, and its loss is lethal. Although Mtrfr knockout mice could not be generated, knockout zebrafish lines for ict1 and mtrfr were established.

Coffee Consumption Is Associated With Later Age‐at‐Onset of Parkinson's Disease
ABSTRACT Observation studies suggest that coffee consumption may lower the risk and delay the age‐at‐onset (AAO) of Parkinson's disease (PD). The aim of this study was to explore the causal relationship and genetic association between coffee consumption and the AAO, risk, and progression of PD. Using Mendelian randomization, we identified a significant

A survey of the coverage, use and application of ancient woodland indicator lists in the UK [PDF]
This report presents the results of a survey into the current use of ancient woodland indicator species lists in the UK. The idea of using species particularly vascular plants as indicators of ancient woodlands can be dated back to the 1970s and the work

ABSTRACT Background Sphingosine‐1‐phosphate receptor modulators (S1PRM) are used to treat relapsing multiple sclerosis (MS). Each drug has a different S1PR‐subtype selectivity. They target the G‐protein coupled S1P receptors and exert significant immunomodulatory effects, such as preventing the formation of new CNS lesions and the reactivation of pre ...

Pigs, people, and proximity: a 6000-year isotopic record of pig management in Ireland
The ways that pigs interact with humans are more flexible than other livestock. This plasticity means that pig behaviour can evidence a tremendous range of cultural phenomena, some of which may not otherwise show up in the archaeological record.

A Validated Model to Predict Severe Weight Loss in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
ABSTRACT Severe weight loss in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is common, multifactorial, and associated with shortened survival. Using longitudinal weight data from over 6000 patients with ALS across three cohorts, we built an accelerated failure time model to predict the risk of future severe (≥ 10%) weight loss using five single‐timepoint ...

An extension of Venkatesh’s converse theorem to the Selberg class
We extend Venkatesh’s proof of the converse theorem for classical holomorphic modular forms to arbitrary level and character. The method of proof, via the Petersson trace formula, allows us to treat arbitrary degree $2$ gamma factors of Selberg ...

Association of the ICH Score With Withdrawal of Life‐Sustaining Treatment Over a 10‐Year Period
ABSTRACT Objective The intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) score was developed to enhance provider communication and facilitate early severity assessment. We examined the association of the ICH score with mortality and withdrawal of life‐sustaining treatment (WLST) in a large, multicenter stroke registry, and evaluated temporal trends in these associations.
