ALOX15 mediates thrombin‐induced myristoylation, trafficking, and interaction of protease‐activated receptors, leading to platelet activation and hemostasis

The role of PARs in platelet function is fairly known; however, the underlying mechanisms are not fully understood. We report that thrombin myristoylates PAR4 in mouse platelets and PAR1 and PAR4 in human platelets, facilitating their membrane transport and interaction, leading to PAR3/4 heterodimers in mice and PAR1/4 heterodimers in humans.

Structural and thermodynamic analyses of a novel β‐1,2‐glucan binding mode in the ABC transporter solute‐binding protein Chy400_4166 from Chloroflexus aurantiacus

Cyclic β‐1,2‐glucan (CβG)‐associated solute‐binding protein of type I ABC transporter was originally identified in Chloroflexus aurantiacus, a phototrophic bacterium. Crystal structures in complex with CβGs revealed unique binding modes that are fundamentally distinct from that of the short β‐1,2‐glucooligosaccharides‐binding protein.

ABSTRACT Habitat restoration may protect brown trout (Salmo trutta) populations from loss of genetic diversity by increasing environmental carrying capacity and, consequently, population size. However, the accompanying release of hatchery‐reared fish may threaten the genetic integrity of native populations through introgression.
