A preventive strategy for the control of aphids in sweet pepper using lacewings and micrococcinelid beetles

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
Aphids pose a serious risk to horticultural crops. Current biocontrol strategies often fail due to the poor establishment of natural enemies when aphids are scarce. We evaluated the potential of two aphidophagous predators, Micromus variegatus and Scymnus interruptus, to be used as preventive biocontrol agents, released before aphid infestation.

Climatic–Anthropogenic Synergy Drives Escalating Minimum Area Requirements and Connectivity‐Protection Mismatch in a Karst‐Endemic Primate

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Climate change and anthropogenic activities drive antagonistic degradation of landscape connectivity for endangered François’ langur (1987–2024), causing 48.8% habitat loss, north‐south fragmentation, and centroid migration (1.2 km/yr). Despite protected areas buffering connectivity, static management fails dynamic priority habitats; we propose ...

The phenological growth stages, heat unit requirement and anti‐tyrosinase activity of Greyia radlkoferi Szyszyl

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, EarlyView.
Phenological growth stages of Greyia radlkoferi: The phenological growth stages of Greyia radlkoferi were monitored for a period of 3 years from 2018, 2019 and 2020. The flower budding, bud burst, flowering, fading, fruiting, seeding, leaf senescence and vegetative stage were recorded. The tyrosinase inhibitory activity of G.
