Eye fixation patterns among dyslexic and normal readers: Effects of word length and word frequency.

Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition, 1995
Eye fixation patterns of 21 dyslexic and 21 younger, nondyslexic readers were compared when they read aloud 2 texts. The study examined whether word-frequency and word-length effects previously found for skilled adult readers would generalize equally to younger dyslexic and nondyslexic readers. Significantly longer gaze durations and reinspection times

A canonical form for non-regular arrays based on generalized word length pattern values of delete-one-factor projections [PDF]

open access: possible, 2014
We introduce a canonical representative for the isomorphism classes of non-regular orthogonal arrays based on the generalized word length patterns (GWLP) of delete-one-factor projections. These GWLP values have been used recently to introduce a fast isomorphism test for two-level regular arrays. We show that the delete-one-factor projection GWLP method

Enumeration of some classes of words avoiding two generalized patterns of length 3

2007
The method we have applied in "A. Bernini, L. Ferrari, R. Pinzani, Enumerating permutations avoiding three Babson-Steingrimsson patterns, Ann. Comb. 9 (2005), 137--162" to count pattern avoiding permutations is adapted to words. As an application, we enumerate several classes of words simultaneously avoiding two generalized patterns of length 3.
